At ‘de Keerhoeve’ we use a  modern digital x-ray system for our regular and dental x-rays. Using a digital system has several advantages:

• Quick results
• The possibility of editing the pictures afterwards
• Pictures can easily be sent to a specialist if referral is needed

Radiography is an essential part of diagnostics. With an x-ray we can determine why a pet is coughing or if there are any fractures after trauma. But radiography can also be used to identify the cause of urinary problems our if your pet might have ingested an object.

In general we don’t need to give your pet any sedation to take the radiographs, but in certain circumstances we prefer to do so. For example: when a animal is very painful or just too excited. Therefore we always advise to withhold food on the day of the examination.
